Why Was Semih Terzi Targeted and Killed on July 15? – Part 1
Medical intervention of Special Forces Brigade Commander Brigadier General Semih Terzi was prevented in GATA.
General Semih Terzi was portrayed in the media as one of the key figures of the July 15 coup attempt and was shot by Chief Sergeant Ömer Halisdemir on the orders of Special Forces Commander Zekai Aksakallı as he entered the headquarters. Battalion Commander Major Fatih Şahin took the injured Semih Terzi to GATA by helicopter.
Did Aksakallı order the GATA Chief of Staff Colonel Muammer Alper not to give medical attention to the injured Semih Terzi?
It is known that Muammer Alper stated that after July 15, he put pressure on doctors not to intervene in the injured Semih Terzi in various settings.
How was it ensured that the time of death was reset to an earlier time in the autopsy report? Was Muammer Alper awarded as a result of these "great achievements" and promoted to Brigadier General?
These questions still remain. It seems that it will take some time to clarify these questions unless there is a fair trial and people who took part in every stage of July 15, such as Zekai Aksakallı, Hulusi Akar, Hakan Fidan, are not questioned.
As it will be remembered, Aksakallı calls Ömer Halisdemir 8 times to persuade him of the "unlawful order". For now, we don't know what they talked about. However, the execution of Ömer Halisdemir by First Lieutenant Mihrali Atmaca, again with the previous order of Zekai Aksakallı, shows that the evidence was deliberately obscured.
It doesn't end here. Aksakallı also gives orders to Ahmet Karaaslan for the execution of Mihrali Atmaca. However, this execution was prevented by the intervention of Captain Halil Elverişli. Halisdemir, who executed Semih Terzi, was executed by Atmaca. Atmaca was also wanted to be executed, but it did not happen.
So why all the effort? Why was Semih Terzi prevented from surviving and, if he was guilty, from being tried? In order to illuminate this question, it is necessary to know General Semih Terzi and understand why he was targeted.
