TRT EMPLOYEES: “NO INSTRUCTIONS WAS GIVEN TO BLOCK THE STATEMENT”

TRT EMPLOYEES: “NO INSTRUCTIONS WAS GIVEN TO BLOCK THE STATEMENT”

WHAT HAPPENED AT TRT IS SIMILAR TO THE GENERAL STAFF HEADQUARTERS

Despite all the interventions, the answers given by the complainants to the questions that could be asked revealed that what happened on TRT was actually similar to what happened at the General Staff that night and in the first hours of 16 July.

Just as Hulusi Akar and Yaşar Güler “triggered a failed coup attempt” at the General Staff Headquarters on July 15, TRT General Manager and Deputy General Director did nothing to prevent the broadcast of the statement read on TRT at 00:13, waited for the announcement to be published, and left TRT's gate in the helipad area after the publication.

The fact that the incident took place in this way was clearly revealed by the answers given to the questions in the cross-examination of the 2nd Class Police Chief Asım Bulat and the Special Security Chief Osman Şahin, who were among the complainants.

WHY WAS ERDOĞAN'S FIRST STATEMENT DELAYED, WAS IT WAITED THE STATEMENT TO BE READ ON TRT?

It is noteworthy that on the evening of the incident, Erdoğan connected to CNN Türk via "facetime" and invited the people to the streets at 00:24, and that this statement was made only 11 minutes after the announcement on TRT.

As might be recalled, the fact that Erdogan's statements to a local channel before his connection to CNN Türk that evening were not broadcast, creates a strong presumption that the statement on TRT was expected to be read.

STATEMENTS OF TRT EMPLOYEES: “INSTRUCTIONS TO BLOCK THE STATEMENT WAS NOT GIVEN”

It has been confirmed by the statements of the complainants at this stage that TRT General Manager Şenol Göka and TRT Deputy General Manager İbrahim Eren, who were at the TRT Oran campus that night, did not give any orders or instructions to prevent the reading of the statement before the statement was read.

On the contrary, the complainant Yunus İdis asked the Deputy General Manager, whom he said he saw in front of the building before the arrival of the soldiers whether he had an order? He stated that he received the answer "no". Also, Idis said that İbrahim Eren, whom he met again after the soldiers entered the TRT campus told him that "there is nothing to be done if the soldiers entered the campus."

TRT employees who were asked, "have you received an order from your superiors, such as not reading the notice, blacking out the screen, or interrupting the broadcast" all answered "No" without exception.

General Manager Şenol Göka, who did not give any instructions before the announcement was read, "consulted" with the police chief Asım Bulat outside, and Deputy General Manager İbrahim Eren, who said, "there is nothing to be done if the soldiers came," left TRT immediately after the broadcast of the statement on TRT.

In his own words, Asım Bulat stated that he had consulted with the TRT General Manager and presented the information he had obtained to Engin Dinç, the Head of Security Intelligence Department at the time and his assistants, who were in the TRT main guardhouse on the evening of the incident. He said that he left the region and came back with Engin Dinç's instructions. Asım Bulat openly declared that he acted on Engin Dinç's instructions.

SECURITY SUPERVISOR KNOWING THAT THERE WAS MOBILITY IN THE REGION (!) BEFORE THE SOLDIER REACHED TRT

From the statements of Security Director Osman Şahin, we learn that there was a program for the filming of the then Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmuş at Arı Studios/Bahçelievler and Şenol Göka and İbrahim Eren, and Numan Kurtulmuş joined a cocktail, which started at around 18.00-18.30 at the latest at 19.00. In addition, upon the question of his own supervisor, Mustafa Şahin, at around 21.00 if there was any activity on TRT, Osman Şahin stated that his superiors and Numan Kurtulmuş evaluated that "FETÖ attempted a coup d'etat".

It is also thought-provoking that those who made these evaluations at a very early hour did not take a preventive measure for TRT. The clear conclusion from the statements and what happened that night is that instead of taking precautions on TRT, the announcement was made to be read.
