How Perception Operation Failed

Another perception operation and lie of the pro-government media and Perinçek media, which slandered innocent people and damaged their reputation with their fake news and perception operations regarding the July 15 Coup Theater, was busted.

It was revealed that the news on January 18, 2019 about Rear Admiral Sinan Sürer with the allegation that "a plan to divide Turkey was seized in his room" was false and made for perception purposes.

In the defense made by Rear Admiral Sinan Sürer at the hearings of the Ankara 17th High Criminal Court on March 21 - 22, 2019, it was stated that:

  • the document in question was sent to the Chief of General Staff by the National Intelligence Organization,
  • it was presented to the Chief of General Staff of the period, Gen. Necdet Özel, 2nd Chief of General Staff Gen. Yaşar Güler and Chief of Intelligence Gen. Mehmet Daysal, and various markings were made on the document by Gen. Yaşar Güler,
  • it is possible to easily learn the date of arrival of the document to the headquarters and by which institution it was sent, from the relevant unit of the General Staff where the incoming and outgoing Documents are recorded,
  • the said document is a complete translation and if it is examined, this issue can be revealed by the expert,
  • The General Directorate of Security did not even make the most basic examinations on the document,
  • there is no signature in the intelligence documents coming from the National Intelligence Organization, but the source of the intelligence information is stated on the cover of the document, and it is seen that this cover part was destroyed during the judicial process,
  • the said document was not prepared by him,
  • since he was the Head of the 1st Intelligence Analysis and Evaluation Department of the General Staff at the time in question, it was his duty to have the documents in his room.

In the court minutes regarding the document in question, the Prosecutor's Office did not even make any criminal charges, and it is seen that the President of the Court, Oğuz Dik, stated that the document in question was not prepared by Rear Admiral Sinan Sürer.

From the statements of the court committee and Rear Admiral Sinan Sürer, it was revealed that:

  • the document in question was sent to the Chief of General Staff by the National Intelligence Organization,
  • the command echelon had information about the document,
  • the document was not prepared by Rear Admiral Sinan Sürer,
  • it was natural for the document to be present at Rear Admiral Sinan Sürer’s room as per his duty,
  • the General Directorate of Security did not even make the most basic examinations on the document,
  • the cover of the document, which indicates the source of the document, was destroyed during the judicial process.

Is it just a coincidence that the proceedings of the members of the so-called Peace at Home Council began after January 18, 2019, when the said document was used by the media for the purpose of perception operation? By whom was the document in question served to the media? By whom and for what purpose was the cover part of the document destroyed?

It is clearly seen that the justice mechanism has collapsed in a country where perception operations have affected Turkish Courts, fake news in the media are presented as evidence and innocent people are tried based on these so-called evidences.

This perception operation, carried out through Rear Admiral Sinan Sürer, is just one of thousands of examples showing the deplorable situation in which the media, judiciary and justice are in Turkey.

Those who see the state of the judicial mechanism in Turkey and the ongoing injustice in the country will be able to see the reason for the economic depression in the country.

Our people, who want the economy to improve, must first demand that justice be done and that the oppression of thousands of innocent people ends.
